I got new glasses that are SUPER nerdy that double as safety glasses, so that is cool too. I don't think people like them as much as I do... I have been getting a few interesting reactions. :) Don't worry, I got normal ones too. There was a buy one get one free special, so I decided to do something different with my free pair. Also, speaking of nerdy things, my research has been going pretty well lately. I just got another 2nd-authored paper accepted and we are currently going through the reviewers comments of my first first-authored paper in this lab. Which is exciting. Also, I am working on yet another first-authored paper that we should submit soon. Graduate school is SO weird. The first-authored paper that I mentioned that we are about to publish was the result of literally 2 weeks of work. 2 WEEKS! However, the paper I am currently writing now, the research has taken 2.5 YEARS. Graduate school is like this weird mix of luck and hard work that I don't think I will ever get the hang of. Which, I guess I don't have to get the hang of it... I will be done in a couple more years (... hopefully...) and then I get to move on to the next stage of life (scary). My advisor told me that he really enjoyed his 3rd year of graduate school because you can just enjoy the experiments and not really have to worry too much about what is coming next. So, I guess I am trying not to worry too much about the future.
In other news, Vance is on his second-to-last rotation. CRAZY.
This whole grad school business is going a little faster than I expected.
